nePlay ("we", "our", "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your data when you use the nePlay mobile application, website, and related services, with a particular focus on our community in Nepal, alongside our global users.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly to us, including:

  • Account Information: Your name, username, email address, and phone number provided during registration.
  • Artist Verification & Integrations: Data collected when you apply for an artist badge or link external profiles like YouTube Music to verify your identity and content.
  • Direct Messages: When you use our chat feature, we collect the content of your messages, timestamps, and participant information.
  • Uploaded Content & Music: Audio files, videos, and associated metadata submitted by users and artists.
  • Copyright & Moderation Data: Information submitted when reporting copyright infringement, appealing a strike, or communicating with site admins regarding content ownership.

To provide a personalized experience, we also collect information automatically:

  • Behavioral & Interaction Data: We log your activity on the platform, including the total watch time of specific videos, the videos you like, the music tracks you use, and the comments you post.
  • Search History: We collect the search queries you enter into the app, paired with the country from which the search was made.
  • Location Information: We collect approximate, country-level location data based on your network headers to understand where you are watching from. We do not collect precise GPS location.
  • Device & Technical Data: We collect device details, operating system, and general network analytics.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to operate and improve nePlay, manage accounts, ensure safety, and communicate with users. Specifically, we use your data for:

  • Platform Moderation & Trust: We review uploaded music and reported content to verify ownership, investigate copyright claims, issue strikes, and enforce our Terms of Use.
  • Content Personalization: We use your watch time, interaction data (likes, comments), and search history to power our recommendation algorithms and tailor the video feed to your interests.
  • Localization: We use your country-level location data to serve localized content, trending videos, and relevant search results based on your region.

3. Content Visibility and Messaging

Public content, including approved music and published reels, is visible to others. Direct messages are private between intended recipients but are subject to review by site administrators if reported for violating our Terms of Use.

4. AI-Generated Content & Algorithms

nePlay leverages artificial intelligence and automated algorithms to power our platform. We use algorithms to analyze behavioral data (like watch time) to recommend content. AI-generated or assisted content may be labeled. Private content and direct messages are not used to train public AI models without explicit user consent.

5. Intellectual Property, Appeals, and Bans

If you upload music or report a copyright violation, we retain the data related to the claim, the administrative review, and any resulting strikes. If an account is disabled under our 3-strike policy, we retain identifiers (such as email and phone number) to permanently prevent the user from circumventing the ban.

6. Payments and Virtual Items

Payments are processed securely by third-party providers. nePlay does not store full card details.

7. Advertising and Analytics

We may use advertising and analytics partners to improve services and show relevant ads.

8. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal data. Information may be shared with service providers, copyright holders during a formal dispute, or when legally required.

9. Data Security

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information against loss, misuse, and unauthorised access, and we limit access to those who need it to operate the service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your data at all times.

10. Children's Privacy

nePlay is intended for users aged 13 and above (or the minimum legal age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under this age. If we learn that an account belongs to an underage user, we will remove or restrict it. nePlay has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation; where we become aware of such content, we remove it and report it to the appropriate authorities. 11. Data Retention and Account Deletion

We keep your information only as long as needed to provide the service and to meet legal, security, and regulatory obligations. You may access, update, or delete your data depending on local laws. You can delete your account through the app settings; when you do, your data is soft-deleted immediately and permanently erased within 30 days, unless retention is necessary for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or regulatory purposes, such as enforcing a ban under our 3-strike policy.

This policy may be updated from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes via the app.
